This article walks through enabling and configuring Inventory at the store level. Once inventory is setup at the store level, you then add inventory to each product (click here for more information on Adding Inventory Units to Products).

Activate Inventory at the Store Level
- Access the Features page.
- Click into the Features section.
- Toggle on the Inventory option. Click Close or Set Up Now to continue.
Configure Store-Level Inventory Settings
- Access the Settings page, and click into the Inventory section.
- Inventory trigger e-mails - The email addresses to receive low inventory emails. Click "ENTER" on your keyboard after typing out or pasting in each email address.
- Exclude inactive items from low inventory trigger e-mail - If you want inactive items (that are low inventory) excluded from the inventory trigger e-mail report, you would turn this toggle on.
- Default inventory level - The default level of inventory set when inventory is first enabled on a product. This can be changed at the product level.
- Default trigger level - The default inventory trigger level set when inventory is first enabled on a product. This trigger level determines when product will appear on the Inventory Trigger Email. This can be changed at the product level.
- Track inventory by default - Determines if the Track Inventory setting is on/off by default when inventory units are imported at the product level. This setting can be modified at the product level.
- Allow negative inventory by default - Determines if the Allow Negative Inventory setting is on/off by default when inventory units are imports at the product level. This setting can be changed at the product level.
- show inventory on storefront - Determines in inventory is displayed to the shopper on the storefront.
- With this setting toggled on and inventory enabled at the product level, the number of units will be displayed on the storefront. See example here.
- With this setting toggled off and inventory enabled at the product level, the number of units will not be displayed, but the user will see the message "in stock" on the store front. See example here.
- Allow Storefront in-stock email notifications - This allows you to have shoppers sign-up to be notified automatically via e-mail when an item is back in stock. Please note, if the inventory line item is set to allow negative, then the shopper cannot sign-up for in-stock email notifications. Click here to see a screen-shot of how this appears on the storefront (may require template update if store was created before 05/10/2022). This functionality will default to ON for any store created on or after 05/11/2021 and if Inventory is enabled.
- Low inventory text - The message that is displayed on the storefront when the Low inventory trigger amount (see next setting) is reached. See example here.
- Low inventory trigger - The level at which the Low inventory text (see above setting) is displayed. Enter "0" here if the Low inventory text should never be displayed (meaning inventory amount will be displayed until they reach "0").
- Out of stock text - The message that is displayed on the storefront when inventory units reach "0". See example here.
- Save - Click to submit changes.
Storefront Inventory Examples
Show Inventory on Storefront Example (toggled on)
In this example, the show inventory on storefront setting is toggled on and inventory is configured at the product level. Notice inventory amounts are displayed.
Show Inventory on Storefront Example (toggled off)
In this example, the show inventory on storefront setting is toggled off and inventory is configured at the product level. Notice inventory amounts are not displayed, only the "in stock" message.
Low Inventory Text Example
In this example, the Low inventory trigger is set to 5 and the inventory for this product is less than 5 (but greater than 0), so the Low inventory text of "We're almost out of stock" is displayed.
Out of Stock Text Example
In this example, inventory for this item is 0 or less, so the Out of stock text of "Sorry, we're out of stock" message is displayed.
Storefront In-Stock Email Notification
In the below example, this is the email notification a shopper receives if they have signed up to be notified when an item is back in-stock. The shopper can click Buy Now in the email to be taken to the product's page.
