This article walks through adding inventory units and configuring inventory at the product level. Prior to setting up product-level inventory, enable and set up inventory at the store level (click here for more information on Enabling Inventory at the Store Level).

Configure Product Options to Track Inventory
Start by enabling inventory for all Product Options that should be included in inventory.
- Access the Products & Categories page.
- Click into the Products section and click the pencil (edit ) icon for the product to add inventory to (not pictured here).
- Click into the Product Options section.
- Click the pencil (edit) icon for the product option to configure.
- Click into the Option Setup section.
- Toggle on the setting to Show in Inventory.
- Save Changes - To submit changes to this product option.
- Save - To submit changes to this product.
Import Inventory into a Product
- Access the Products & Categories page.
- Click into the Products section and click the pencil (edit ) icon for the product to add inventory to (not pictured here).
- Click into the Inventory tab for that product.
- Toggle on the Track Inventory option.
- Click the Import Inventory Units button.
- Checkbox - Check the sub-skus to add to inventory. Unchecked boxes will not be imported and inventory will not be tracked.
- Color Column - Each product option that is configured to track inventory will be displayed in its own column. This is an example of the color product option. Click here for more information on configuring a product option to track inventory.
- Size Column - This is an example of the color product option.
- Sub-SKU - This column displays a combination of the product option sub-SKUs that are configured to track inventory.
- Inventory - Enter inventory units for each product here. Click directly on the inventory amount to change it. The default amounts are set at the store level. Click here for more information on setting up default inventory amounts.
- Trigger - Enter the trigger amount for the Inventory Trigger Email. When inventory amounts is less than or equal to this amount, the email address entered into the Inventory trigger e-mails field on the Store-Level Inventory configuration, will receive an email. - Track Inventory - Check this box to track inventory for this product.
- Allow Neg. Inventory - Check this box to allow shoppers to continue to order when inventory is at zero or in the negative.
- Import - Click to save inventory settings.
- Save - Click to save changes to product.
Prevent Users from Ordering a Product
Deleting a product from inventory will not stop a user from ordering it; this will only disable your ability to control ordering. The best approach to prevent a user from order a product is to enter an Inventory Level of zero (0) and uncheck Allow Neg. Inventory (see highlighted row below as an example).
